A health service provider in British Columbia seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse for Wrinch Memorial Hospital. Licensed Practical Nurse with a passion for nursing to join the team at Wrinch Memorial Hospital. In accordance with the mission, vision and values, Northern Health promotes a safe, respectful, and civil working environment for patients, residents, families, visitors, and staff.
Reporting to the Program Lead or Designate and working with the interdisciplinary team, the LPN provides nursing care to an assigned group of patients/residents according to established policies and the Standards of Practice for the Licensed Practical Nurses of British Columbia. The LPN functions as an independent practitioner while recognizing situations such as increased patient acuity or care outside the LPN scope that require access to RN/RPN for collaborative support and/or clinical intervention. The LPN assists patients/residents in meeting physical, social, spiritual, and psychological needs consistent with Northern Health priorities and protocols. The LPN participates in developing care plans, conducting assessments, implementing and evaluating interventions, documenting information, and acting as an advocate for patients/residents. The LPN participates in meetings including care conferences and assists with orientation of new staff and students as required. Responds to and reports incidents according to established procedures and performs clerical duties as needed.

Teaching is a time-honored tradition at Wrinch Memorial Hospital. There is an ongoing rotation of Medical Students, Nurse Practitioner Students and Medical Residents. It serves a population of 8,000 with facilities and services including: Medical Imaging, Laboratory, Wrinch Medical Clinic, Dental Clinic, a secure psychiatric observation room, Retail Pharmacy on-site, and more including Public Health, Mental Health and Substance Use, Skeena Place Assisted Living Complex, Home and Community Care support services, visiting specialists in General surgery, Internal medicine, Gynecology, Rheumatology, Pediatrics, Urology, MyoActivation Pain Clinic, and Neurology (coming soon), among others.
