Position Summary
Do you have a passion for nursing? We have the position for you! We are seeking a motivated Licensed Practical Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team at the University Hospital of Northern BC.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to an assigned group of patients/residents according to established policies and procedures and Standards of Practice.
- Act independently while recognizing situations that require RN/RPN support.
- Assist patients/residents in meeting physical, social, spiritual, and psychological needs.
- Participate in developing care plans, conducting assessments, and evaluating interventions.
- Document information and act as an advocate for patients/residents.
- Participate in care conferences and assist with orientation of new staff and students.
- Respond to and report incidents according to established procedures and perform clerical duties as needed.
Shift Rotation / Hours of Work
Days, Evenings, 06:00 to 14:00, 08:30 to 16:30, 09:00 to 17:00, 10:00 to 18:00, 11:00 to 19:00, 12:00 to 20:00 (rotating)

Requirements / Qualifications
- Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as a practicing LPN registrant.
- Current basic cardiac life support certification.
- Knowledge and ability to perform CPR procedures appropriate for the area of service.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to operate related equipment and work as a member in an interdisciplinary team.
- Decision‑making, analytical, conflict resolution, prioritization, and organization skills.
- Ability to teach and identify patient/resident learning needs.
