Qualifications

• Appropriate current certificate of competence from the Approved Institutions for the province.
• Registration or eligible for registration with the Approved Institutions for the province.
• Previous managerial experience in long-term care or community homecare preferred.
• Experience dealing with the cognitively impaired.
• Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and health care practices, including infection control.
• Commitment to working with seniors.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources to solve problems.
• Strong organizational, planning, time management and multi-tasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure care is provided with established nursing standards, physician orders, and policies; observe, report, and record vital signs and conditions of residents/patients.
• Assist in assessing patients/residents and develop, implement, review and evaluate care plans; monitor health and refer as needed.
• Maintain infection control practices and ensure safe, compassionate care in daily operations.
