Reporting to the Manager, Inpatient Mental Health and Addictions, the Licensed Practical Nurse is a member of a multi-disciplinary team and provides safe, competent patient care within the full LPN scope of practice. This position requires thorough knowledge of human behavior in application of the nursing process. The LPN will develop a professional knowledge base and skills related to psychiatric nursing. This position is able to assess patient needs in collaboration with the patient and/or significant other and ensure therapeutic interventions are carried out, as well as act as a patient advocate and assist in promoting mental health. The LPN will work rotating shifts as assigned.
The duties of the Licensed Practical Nurse will be carried out in accordance with the principles and practices that guide Nova Scotia Health.

($37.06 with 25+ years' experience)
