Job summary

Interior Health's Penticton Regional Hospital is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the Hemodialysis team. You will provide nursing care across pre-, intra-, and post-dialysis, ensuring safety and compassionate patient support.

This casual role offers flexible hours (0–37.5 per week as needed), shift coverage from 07:00 to 19:00, and access to IH's benefits, training, and pension programs. Applicants must be BC licensure and a Hemodialysis training credential.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from a recognized Practical Nursing program with BC licensure (BCCNM)
  • Completion of a Hemodialysis Training program and at least 1 year of related acute care experience
  • Current CPR certification required

  • Assesses, plans, implements and provides nursing care to patients receiving hemodialysis
  • Provides nursing services during pre-dialysis, intra-dialysis and post-dialysis periods
  • Operates in accordance with BCCNM standards and unit protocols

About the Job

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):

  • Assesses, plans, implements and provides nursing care to patients/clients receiving hemodialysis
  • Provides practical nursing services during the pre-dialysis, intra-dialysis and post-dialysis periods
  • Operates in accordance with the competency guidelines and the Standards of Practice as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), and according to organizational policies, procedures, standards and unit specific protocols.

This is a casual opportunity. Casual employees are not guaranteed hours of work and can range from 0-37.5 hours per week on an as-needed basis.

Shifts of work will be scheduled days from 07:00 to 19:00 hours.

Qualifications
  • Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses with the full range of current licensed practical nursing competencies, and successful completion of a Health Authority Hemodialysis Training program plus one (1) year recent related experience working as a Licensed Practice Nurse in acute care, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Current full practicing licensure with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
  • Current CPR certification required
