Licensed Practical Nurse - Extended Day Unit

GNH Unit 23 Extended Day Unit provides exceptional care for Day Surgery, Same Day Admit, and Day Medicine Patients and Families. Operating Monday-Friday, Unit 23 is a fast-paced, high volume, high turnover unit with focus on providing expert and comforting pre-operative and post-operative care to patients and families, as well as skilled, experienced, and comforting care to Day Medical patients that require Infusion Therapy, Diagnostic Procedures, Biopsies, Phlebotomies, and Pacemakers. Unit 23 thrives on a Teamwork culture working in collaboration with teams from Pre-Admission Clinic (PAC), Operating Room (OR), Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), and Inpatient Surgical units with top priority of providing safe and compassionate care. Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) are essential and valued members of the team and work in accordance with CLPNA acting as an advocate, coordinator, and liaison for patients and families. LPN identifies needs and sets priorities in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. LPN facilitate patient and family education and discharge planning. Description: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team, collaborating on the delivery of holistic, comprehensive care and support to patients/residents and families. The LPN must be able to team lead effectively on their own. The LPN works to the full scope of practice in providing safe, quality care in accordance with established standards, and the Mission, Vision, Values, policies and procedures of Covenant Health. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the AUPE Auxiliary Nursing Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

Completion of Day Surgery Nurse and Day Medicine/IV Therapy Nurse Connect Care training preferred.Completion of Med Admin by CVC, PICC or IVAD module on CLPNA website.
