Job summary

Betel Home Foundation is seeking an attentive Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide comprehensive nursing care to residents in Gimli and Selkirk, Manitoba. Under supervision, you will guide Health Care Aides and fellow LPNs while adhering to professional standards and ethics.

You will practice within the CLPNM scope, maintain BLS certification, and demonstrate clinical nursing skills while collaborating with the care team to ensure high-quality resident outcomes.

Qualifications

• Active practicing licensure with CLPNM or eligible for licensure.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) training.
• Knowledge and ability to demonstrate clinical nursing skills and concepts.
• Basic knowledge and skills to work with computers and electronic software.

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Director of Resident Care, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to residents in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. The LPN provides clinical direction to Health Care Aides and other LPNs when the LPN is assigned charge responsibilities. LPNs recognize and fulfill their Professional responsibilities by practicing within the scope of practice of the Licensed Practical Nurses Act, the approved College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM) Scope of Practice and Entry-Level Competencies, provincial and federal legislation and within the guidelines of professional ethics. The position of Registered Nurse functions in a manner consistent with, and supports the Mission, Vision and Values of Betel Home.

Qualifications

• Active practicing licensure with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM) or eligible for active practicing licensure with CLPNM.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) training.
• Knowledge, competence and ability to demonstrate clinical nursing skills and concepts in accordance with approved nursing standards.
• Basic knowledge and skills to work with computers, and electronic software programs.

Experience In Geriatrics And Dementia Care Preferred

• Ability to make effective decisions regarding nursing care.
• Demonstrated effective problem solving, organization skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Demonstrated communication skills.
• Demonstrated critical thinking skills.
• Ability to maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, residents and the public.
• Proficient in English; the ability to communicate in more than one language would be considered an asset.

Physical Requirements

• Moderate to heavy physical effort required.
• This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
