Salary or Pay Band: $36.16 - $36.72/hr

Job Description

Under the direction of the Acute Care Unit Coordinator, and within a multidisciplinary team, the LPN will be responsible for the delivery of safe and high-quality general duty nursing care of acute care and emergency services. The LPN works collaboratively with all departments of ANHH and the File Hills Qu’Appelle Tribal Council (FHQTC) Health Services to further promote holistic healing and a commitment to Truth and Reconciliation.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Applies critical thinking and clinical judgement in health assessments throughout nursing process.
  • Assists physician with procedures, where required.
  • Contributes in the development of nursing care plans.
  • Provides direct patient care by following nursing care plans and protocols.
  • Accepts, transcribes and initiates physician orders (e.g., orders, accompanying physician on rounds).
  • Observes, reports and records physical and psychological observations/changes in-patient condition.
  • Assists with/provides personal hygiene to clients/patients/residents.
  • Administers and records medications (e.g., oral, subcutaneous, pulmonary, rectal, intramuscular).
  • Initiates, administers and maintains intravenous therapy (e.g., flow rate, site integrity).
Education
  • Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nursing program
  • Current registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Saskatchewan (CLPNS)
  • Indigenous and rural healthcare experience an asset
