Your Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity to join our rural acute care team. Nurses who apply will have the opportunity to work in both Acute Care and ER. Our hospital contains 35 acute care beds on 2 units and a busy 13 bed ER. Our multidisciplinary team works closely together to service all of the needs of our residents. Lacombe is one of Alberta’s newest cities that has retained its small town feel and is located a short 15‑minute drive north of Red Deer. Lacombe offers a rich natural environment of lakes and green spaces, along with an unrivaled range of lifestyle amenities. Our facility serves the city and surrounding rural areas and communities.

Description

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS‑HCP).

Rural Acute Care and ER experience. CTAS. Lead ll. Completion of CLPNA restricted activities modules. Completion of ENPEP modules. Ability to work to full scope.
