Overview

Your Opportunity:
Your Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works as a member of the rural health care team, collaborating on the delivery of holistic, comprehensive care to meet the needs of individuals, families and/or communities within level of competency. Patient population varies from emergency care, pre and post-operative, pediatric, seniors, palliative, and postpartum. The LPN provides leadership in nursing assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for the purpose of promoting, maintaining or restoring health, preventing illness, injury and disability or supporting a peaceful death. The LPN provides care throughout the life span, in all stages of health and complexities of illness. The successful candidate will administer safe and effective nursing care in accordance with hospital policies and nursing care standards. Please note this position is located in Canmore, Alberta 100 kms west of Calgary.

Responsibilities

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications

2 years Emergency current experience within past 3 years. 1 year post-partum experience. Current Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Current Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP). Certification in Canadian Triage & Acuity Scale (CTAS). Up to date N95 Fit Test. Completion of It’s Your Move. Competence in Lead II interpretation. Connect Care Training. Demonstrated flexibility and ability to work in a busy, fast-paced environment required.

Preferred Qualifications

Connect Care training. Certification in Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC).
