Job summary

Shoppers Drug Mart in Canada is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support the dispensing of prescriptions and delivery of pharmacy services. You will assist in maintaining the pharmacy as per standards and provide courteous, timely service to customers.

Responsibilities include data entry for prescriptions, third-party adjudication, and ensuring accurate labeling and data in pharmacy systems. Prior pharmacy experience and a pharmacy technician diploma are preferred.

Qualifications

• Registered with the provincial licensing college.
• Diploma from a Pharmacy Technician College.
• Previous Pharmacy Experience preferred.
• Effective organizational skills, ability to multitask.
• Problem Solving Skills.
• Strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the technical functions of dispensing prescriptions according to Standards.
• Assist in the delivery of pharmacy services and maintenance of the Pharmacy.
• Refer clinical inquiries to the pharmacist.
• Accurate dispensing of prescription medications.
• Adjudicate third-party billing when required.
• Set realistic wait times for customers.
• Maintain and cash out prescriptions and ancillary items.
• Counsel patients with pharmacist guidance as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and privacy requirements.

Education

Diploma from a Pharmacy Technician College

Registered with the provincial licensing college
