Job summary

The Shaw Group Limited, located at our Lantz site in Nova Scotia, is seeking an Industrial Millwright Maintenance Mechanic to join the maintenance team. The role focuses on heavy machinery maintenance with a safety-first approach, collaborating with production leads, engineers, and senior management.

The successful candidate will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, and support operations to prevent delays.

Qualifications

• Safety and quality focus.
• Nova Scotia Licensed Millwright-Industrial Mechanic.
• Minimum three years of experience as an Industrial Mechanic, preferably in a production environment.
• Welding experience an asset.
• Competent in computer skills, including e-mail, internet, and CMMS systems.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Maintains a high level of integrity and accountability.
• Easily adaptable in the field as plant demands change.
• Ability to work shift work and overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Following safety precautions and using protective equipment.
• Reading technical manuals to understand equipment and controls.
• Installing, maintaining, and repairing factory equipment and other industrial machinery.
• Ensuring the efficiency and optimal performance of industrial equipment and machinery to support operations and prevent delays.
• Performing preventative maintenance of assets.
• Maintaining accurate records and updating work orders in a relevant system.
• Providing advice and support to production employees who carry basic preventative maintenance procedures on equipment.
• Working with Operations to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain the plant and production equipment.
• Other duties as required to support operations.
