The Industrial Electrician is responsible for supporting all functions and departments in the Distribution Centre by ensuring smooth and safe operation of all equipment and machinery.

Responsibilities
  • Follow all mechanical and electrical work instructions and procedures
  • Comply with Electrical Safety Authority requirements
  • Read electrical drawings for conveyors,
  • Carry on preventative maintenance and repair for electrical panels
  • Install and troubleshooting PLC modules and electronics devices
  • Have basic PLC programing and control logic skills
  • Install and program AC Drives and control
  • Maintain and repair building lighting system
  • Repair electrical problems for dock doors control panels and battery machine battery chargers
  • Fix power supply (120VAC – 600VAC) problems for building
  • Install power supply and control wires for new equipment as required
  • Order electrical parts from Suppliers and monitor parts inventory
  • Have basic computer skills to access emails, windows
  • Plan and implement projects to improve the operation of the conveyor system
  • Train maintenance technicians to improve their electrical knowledge
  • Work with service contractors to repair / maintain building and production equipment
  • Operate man lift machines and power machines
  • May be responsible for coordinating the maintenance daily workflow and support the other team
  • Participates in analytical problem solving and can make decisions relating to each problem encountered
  • Ensure all works are completed according to electrical code in a timely manner
Education and Experience:
  • Government Certificate of Qualification as Industrial Electrician 442A or 309A
  • 3-5 years of experience in an automated distribution environment
  • Basic PLC troubleshooting experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong team player skills and support the maintenance team
