Job Summary

Symba Center is seeking a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our team. In this role, you will support individuals, couples, and families dealing with behavioral health challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues, using evidence-based techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to enhance coping strategies and emotional regulation. The clinician will provide a range of services, including assessments, individual and family counseling, parenting support, child therapy, relationship counseling, and psychoeducation workshops, but will not offer 24/7 access or immediate crisis care. Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills, a solid understanding of family systems, and experience in both individual and group therapy, along with a commitment to collaborating with other mental health professionals and maintaining accurate treatment documentation in compliance with state regulations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide counseling to clients on personal challenges.
  • Teach clients and their families essential life skills and strategies.
  • Create individualized treatment plans for clients.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records.
  • Gather relevant information about clients.
  • Offer guidance on interpersonal issues to clients.
  • Conduct interviews to understand clients' backgrounds, needs, and progress.
  • Meet with clients to review and discuss treatment plans and progress.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals to assess client needs and develop treatment strategies.
  • Assess individual characteristics to identify needs or eligibility for services.
  • Refer clients to community resources or social service programs.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of counseling and educational initiatives.
  • Monitor clients' progress throughout the treatment process.
  • Oversee staff delivering client or patient services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Master's Degree in psychology, marriage and family therapy, social work, counseling, or related field required.
  • Must meet all state licensing requirements for LCSW and maintain active licensure.
  • Completion of 36 hours of approved continuing education every two years, including law and ethics training, is mandatory for licensure renewal.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience required.
  • Valid, unrestricted CA driver’s license.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross preferred.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in Google Workspace, including Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Calendar, is preferred.
  • Must be comfortable working in a transitional housing environment.
  • Must successfully pass a background check.
