We pay top rates for licenced techs! Up to $42.00 / unit available.

The Licensed Technician works in conjunction with the Automotive Service Advisor, Automotive Service Manager, Tower Operator and fellow coworkers to promote a customer first environment. A licensed technician is required to inspect, diagnose, repair and service mechanical, electrical and electronic systems and components of vehicles while working in a busy service centre, with state-of-the-art equipment.

Must be willing to work some weekend shifts

Policy, Procedures, Standards
  • Work in accordance with Canadian Tire best practices in service deliverym customer values, store operations, as well as relevant health and safety legislation
  • Engage in staff development initiatives to ensure standards are understood and met
  • Keep current on the material contained within the Policy and Procedures Employee Manual
  • Follow store health and safety program and observe provincial occupational health and safety regulations; report any observed or potential hazards immediately
  • Participate in meetings
Major Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Maintain professional appearance (uniform, hygiene and grooming)
  • Perform maintenance and repair vehicles as requested by customers
  • Perform road tests using safe driving standards
  • Provide written, prioritized quotations for necessary additional work
  • Notify Service Advisor and customer of additional maintenance work required to be recorded
  • Explain procedures and repairs directly to customers, as required
  • Perform daily bay inspections
  • Instruct apprentices by monitoring and verifying their work for accuracy
  • Increase sales of the service department
  • Maintain and keep company and personally-owned equipment and tools in good repair
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date knowledge of the operation, maintenance and repair of most domestic and imported cars
  • Complete other tasks as required
Major Requirements and Competencies
  • Valid mechanic's license
  • Valid driver's license in the province of employ
