Job summary

De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited, headquartered in Calgary, is seeking a Liaison Engineer to disposition non-conformances, develop repairs, and coordinate their implementation within the aircraft manufacturing environment.

The role entails serving as the primary contact for repair development and certification, prioritizing design-change work with the Engineering Manager, and managing ongoing modification projects with DAO and production teams to ensure design conformity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering or Engineering Technology, or equivalent.
  • 5–10 years in Aerospace, including 3–5 years MRB experience in the structures discipline.
  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing environment & structural design.
  • Direct knowledge/experience with CL-215/415 Water Bomber Aircraft is an asset.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in repair design.
  • Strong knowledge of structural analysis and certification requirements.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide world class on-site engineering support for maintenance and modification programs involving DHC’s products.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for development and certification of repair and other design change projects.
  • Develop substantiation for design changes and work with the Engineering Manager to prioritize work activities.

Profile

TheLiaison Engineer is responsible for dispositioning non-conformances, developing repairs and coordinating their implementation within the aircraft manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide world class service and act as on-site engineering support for extended maintenance and modification programs involving DHC’s products. This includes supporting the development of technical solutions, development of engineering data, and acting as a principle point of contact for the customer, modification and maintenance service provider, and De Havilland personnel.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the development and certification of repair and other design change projects in accordance with the requirements set forth by De Havilland Engineering and customer support service standards.
  • Develop substantiation for design changes and work with the Engineering Manager to prioritize work activities.
  • Manage ongoing modification projects in accordance with department priorities.
  • Coordinate with the Design Approval Organization (DAO) and manufacturing/maintenance teams to ensure conformity of new designs.
  • Apply project management principles to oversee and execute projects, track progress, and provide updates to stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering or Engineering Technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years' experience in Aerospace, including 3-5 years of MRB experience in the structures discipline.
  • Previous experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment & structural design.
  • Direct knowledge/experience with CL-215/415 Water Bomber Aircraft is an asset.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in repair design.
  • Strong knowledge of structural analysis and certification requirements.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings.

Skills

  • This is a full-time position based on a 40 hour work week, weekend rotations will be required to support production
