Job summary

Canada Post is seeking temporary on-call delivery agents for Terrace, BC. You’ll begin by sorting at the depot, loading a postal vehicle, and then delivering mail and parcels on your route.

You must have a valid driver’s licence with a clean record, be able to lift up to 50 lb, and work in all weather. English and/or French literacy is required, and being on-call is essential. Canada Post offers training and potential for permanent roles.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 5 or Class G driver’s licence with a safe driving record for at least 3 years.
• Able to lift up to 50 lb (22.7 kg) and carry up to 35 lb (15.9 kg) regularly.
• Able to work in all types of weather.
• On-call availability and readiness to adapt to shifts.
• Read, write and speak English and/or French.

Responsibilities

• Start the day in the depot sorting and preparing deliveries.
• Load and drive a Canada Post postal vehicle.
• Deliver mail and packages on the route, by foot or vehicle.
• Return to the depot to unload and prepare for the next day.

Job Responsibilities

What will you do?

• You’ll start your day in the depot, sorting and preparing the day’s deliveries
• You’ll load and drive a Canada Post postal vehicle

• You’ll then spend most of your day outside, delivering mail and packages by foot or by vehicle to customers on your route
• You’ll return to the depot to unload the day’s incoming mail and packages for later delivery

Qualifications

What must you have?

• A valid Class 5 or Class G driver’s licence with a safe driving record for at least 3 years (driver's abstract required)
• The physical ability to lift mail items weighing up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry items weighing up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) regularly throughout the day
• The ability to work in all types of weather
• The availability to be on-call
• The ability to read, write and speak English and/or French
