Job summary

Canada Post is hiring a temporary, on-call Letter Carrier to serve Québec, QC. You will start in the depot, sort and prepare deliveries, then drive a Canada Post vehicle and deliver mail and parcels along your route, returning to the depot for the next cycle.

Fluency in English and/or French is required, and you must be available on-call. This role offers training, opportunities for advancement, and competitive pay in a dynamic national service environment.

Qualifications

  • A valid Class5 or ClassG driver’s licence with a safe driving record for at least 3 years (driver's abstract required)
  • The physical ability to lift mail items weighing up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry items weighing up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) regularly throughout the day
  • The ability to work in all types of weather
  • The availability to be on-call
  • The ability to read, write and speak English and/or French

Responsibilities

  • You’ll start your day in the depot, sorting and preparing the day’s deliveries
  • You’ll load and drive a Canada Post postal vehicle
  • You’ll spend most of your day outside, delivering mail and packages by foot or by vehicle to customers on your route
  • You’ll return to the depot to unload the day’s incoming mail and packages for later delivery

Conditions / requirement of employment:

** Failure to respond/attend will be considered as a withdrawal on your part **
**Please note that this is an on-call position - with no guaranteed hours**
** You may be called upon to replace with a short delay, we ask for availability from Monday to Friday between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm.**
** The salary is $23.81 per hour at hiring **
** Routes can be 20-25 km walk and this in all weather conditions (stairs, snow, rain, sun, etc.) **
