Contribute to the overall success of Scotiabank’s Dealer Finance Services team in Canada by ensuring that individual goals, initiatives, and plans are executed in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensure that all activities are conducted in compliance with applicable regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Foster a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage the broader Bank’s relationships, knowledge, and systems.
  • Contribute to the growth and profitability of the lending portfolio by:
  • Analyzing credit applications submitted by dealers to assess a customer's financial capacity based on credit history, employment, and income, in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Performing various credit analysis and structuring activities using the business unit’s credit adjudication system.
  • Assessing risk and making recommendations regarding the appropriate course of action for customer credit applications.
  • Conducting the necessary analysis to support recommended pricing, rates, and fees.
  • Reviewing and processing loan modification and rate reduction requests received from dealers and providing recommendations accordingly.
  • Exercise effective and timely due diligence in loan adjudication by:
  • Ensuring that credit applications submitted by dealers are properly reviewed, assessed, and documented.
  • Following up on missing information and documentation, and managing credit and income verification processes for assigned loan applications.
  • Escalating special cases to the Manager, Credit, to ensure timely and fair resolution through the appropriate channels.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture apply to day-to-day activities and decision-making.
  • Actively seek operational efficiencies within the department while ensuring the adequacy, effectiveness, and compliance of day-to-day regulatory controls to meet obligations related to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, anti-money laundering (AML), anti-terrorist financing (ATF), and conduct risk. This includes adhering to Scotiabank’s Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, Global AML/ATF Handbook, and Code of Conduct.
  • Promote a high-performance environment and implement talent strategies that attract, retain, develop, and motivate team members through an inclusive workplace. Communicate the Bank’s vision, values, and business strategy, while supporting succession planning and employee development initiatives.
