Job summary

Join Sienna Senior Living as a Leisure Services Aide (Temporary Full-Time) at Trillium Community in Kingston, ON. You will support residents with engaging recreation and outings, contributing to personalized care plans and a warm, connecting environment.

Applicants should have a post-secondary credential in recreation/leisure studies or related field, plus strong communication skills and understanding of dementia programming needs. Flexible hours including evenings/weekends are required.

Qualifications

Must hold a post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology, gerontology or related field.
Strong oral and written communication skills are required.
Knowledge of programming needs for older adults with dementia is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide recreation and leisure activities and outings per policy and resident plan of care.
Contribute to and sustain a plan of care to meet residents' assessed needs.
Assist in planning resident area activity calendars aligned with care goals.
Identify opportunities for residents to share skills with others inside or outside the residence.
Identify therapeutic recreation goals and interventions on care plans.
Perform other duties as assigned.
