Job summary

The Legislative Assembly of British Columbia in Victoria, BC is seeking a Building Mechanical Maintenance Technician (HVAC) for a regular full‑time role. You will maintain HVAC systems, execute maintenance projects, and ensure work is delivered on time and within budget.

Reporting to the Maintenance Team Lead, the position requires a minimum of 2 years in property management or trades and a valid BC driver’s license.

POSITION SUMMARY

Employees of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia (Assembly) provide professional non‑partisan services to support the democratic institution of Parliament and its members through procedural advice, administrative support and information services. The Assembly is an autonomous employer, separate from the administrative framework of B.C. government ministries and agencies.

The Precinct Services department is seeking a reliable, detail‑oriented, and hands‑on individual for the regular full‑time position of Building Mechanical Maintenance Technician with a specialization in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC).

Reporting to the Maintenance Team Lead, the Building Mechanical Maintenance Technician (BMMT) is responsible for performing various maintenance projects according to strict deadlines and within budget, which includes acquiring resources and planning work activities to deliver projects according to plan.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a property management and/or trades environment.
  • Valid BC Driver’s License

Preference may be given to candidates with the following:

  • Experience supporting or assisting with HVAC system maintenance and repairs in a commercial or institutional environment, or completion of formal training in HVAC or a related mechanical program.
  • Hands‑on experience with building systems and mechanical components.
  • Experience coordinating construction and maintenance projects.
