Position Overview

The Legal Counsel will have 1 to 2 years of experience working at a major law firm and / or large corporation supportingvarious business units by advising on a wide variety of matters ranging from negotiating commercial contracts, handling litigation and regulatory matters, to advising on a variety of areas of law, including general corporate law, privacy law, consumer protection laws and regulatory compliance affecting the automotive industry.

Requirements
  • 1-2 years of relevant post-call experience at a leading law firm and / or large corporation.
  • Strong willingness to learn and self-starter.
  • Ability to work very independently and collaboratively with a broad range of external and internal stakeholders is essential.
  • In addition to sound judgement, the ideal candidate must possess excellent analytical skills and strong business acumen as you will be working closely with various business groups
  • Member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario, the Law Society of Alberta, OR the Law Society of British Columbia.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing tasks in a high-paced environment.
  • Litigation experience is considered an asset.
