McInnes Cooper is seeking a positive and forward-thinking Legal Content Editor to join our Marketing and Business Development team for a full-time permanent opportunity. This position can be based in any of our seven office locations in Atlantic Canada. Our new team member will develop implement and manage a firm-wide legal publications program and support the delivery of both billable training and non-billable business development presentations to firm clients and prospects. Additionally this role will lead and develop training courses and packaged services as part of MC.

Responsibilities
  • Proactively coordinating the production and distribution of all McInnes Cooper authored publications.
  • Maintain an editorial calendar for publications including legal updates legislative developments and legal trends.
  • Seek opportunities for securing publication opportunities in targeted publications.
  • Develop content assign authorship and review and edit all legal publication content.
  • Proactively support the creation business development presentations :
  • Proactively support the creation & delivery of McInnes Cooper delivered legal training for clients.
  • Regularly report on data analytics related to legal content.
  • Regularly monitor and share intelligence about the legal market and legal outlook with an eye for opportunities to enhance content delivery and improve the marketing and business development teams knowledgebase.
Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess the following skill set :

  • Undergraduate degree in Business Marketing Communications Journalism or Public Relations from a recognized institution;
  • A Law degree would be considered a strong asset;
  • 3 years related marketing experience in a corporate setting preferably a professional services environment;
  • Exceptional technology skills with proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft Office and a genuine interest in keeping up to date with the newest technology;
  • Demonstrated writing abilities;
  • Excel in a demanding fast-paced team environment be highly detail-oriented and flexible to changing priorities;
  • A positive attitude and enjoy working in a collaborative team environment; and
  • Bilingualism (fluent in English and French) would be a considered a strong asset.
