Our client, a reputable Mississauga firm is currently looking for a Legal/Accounting Assistant. This firm has an excellent culture and many career development opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage legal billing and ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Handle bookkeeping and accounting tasks, including reconciliations and accounts payable/receivable.
  • Assist with corporate and/or wills & estates matters as required.
  • Prepare and review financial reports, invoices, and client accounts.
  • Maintain financial records in compliance with firm policies.
  • Complete various corporate forms and documentation;
  • Assist with rollovers, corporate reorganizations, financings, and estate freezes;
  • Organize, maintain, and update corporate files and records in an electronic entity management system;
  • Preparing and filing all registrations, amendments and returns required under applicable legislation;
  • Conduct minute book and corporate records reviews, prepare rectification recommendations and necessary documentation.
Requirements
  • Legal Assistant, Accounting related diploma or degree;
  • Previous experience in a legal environment, handling billing and accounting functions.
  • Proficiency with PCLaw and general bookkeeping software.
  • Knowledge of Corporate Law and/or Wills & Estates is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently in an in-office setting.
