Lecturer / Senior Lecturer Exercise Placement Lead

• Employment Type : Full - time (35 hours a week)
• Duration : Continuing
• Remuneration : $127k - $178k base (17% super and leave loading)
• Work rights : Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Candidates must hold full rights to work in Australia to be considered for this position.
• Location : Kensington Sydney

The School of Health Sciences at UNSW is rapidly expanding to service education agendas based on our four groundbreaking health professional education programs. Those who are appointed to this prestigious specialisation will be expected to successfully drive educational excellence within the universitys teaching and learning communities. The Lecturer / Senior lecturer in exercise science / exercise physiology (clinical education) will be primarily responsible for experiential learning (clinical placements) throughout the exercise science and exercise physiology program.

Level B

• A PhD in a related discipline and / or relevant work experience
• Accreditation with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA) as an Accredited Exercise Scientist and Accredited Exercise Physiologist
• Knowledge and experience in clinical areas relevant to the practice of exercise science and exercise physiology and the ability to deliver appropriate client care
• Actively stays up to date with discipline knowledge and professional development
• Knowledge and experience of exercise science and exercise physiology practicum / placement requirements
• Demonstrated experience in clinical teaching and assessment at undergraduate and / or postgraduate level
• Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence (e.g. relevant discipline- specific curriculum design especially with respect to clinical education and development at a variety of levels and scales)
• Demonstrated knowledge of industry or experience of work-integrated learning (desirable)
• Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills
• Evidence of ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support student equity diversity and inclusion initiatives

Level C (in addition to the above)

• Advanced clinical knowledge and the ability to deliver excellence in client-centred care
• Evidence of professional development of teaching practice in self and others with the ability to advance and lead an inclusive culture of excellence in learning and teaching.
• Demonstrated success in initiating curriculum development and improvement.
