The Department of Medical Imaging at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and the University of Toronto are recruiting a radiologist in Cardiothoracic Imaging. The successful candidate must be eligible for a full‑time clinical appointment at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto. The anticipated start date is May 1 2026, or slightly thereafter.

About the Institution

Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre (SHSC) is a fully affiliated hospital of the University of Toronto. The practice consists of more than 50 subspecialty radiologists. It supports the Odette Cancer Centre and the Schulich Heart Centre, and is Canada's largest trauma centre. The Cardiothoracic Imaging Division has received new equipment including 4 dual‑energy CT scanners, 3 Tesla and 1.5 Tesla MRI scanners, a PET/CT scanner, and a research PET‑MR scanner. The thoracic imaging program focuses on oncology, emergency and trauma, airways, and interstitial lung disease. The cardiac imaging program covers structural heart disease, coronary artery disease, cardiomyopathies, adult congenital heart disease, and TAVR imaging.

Responsibilities
  • Work across all thoracic and cardiac imaging modalities including CXR, CT, and MRI
  • Lead multidisciplinary rounds and teaching rounds for residents, fellows, and medical students
  • Participate in the on‑call rotation program
  • Engage in research with protected academic time, collaborating with colleagues
Qualifications
  • MD or equivalent; Board‑certified or Board‑eligible in Diagnostic Imaging from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, American Board of Radiology, or international equivalent
  • Eligible for licensing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
  • Minimum one year of post‑residency fellowship training in thoracic or cardiothoracic imaging
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching and research
  • Strong team player with a solid commitment to patient care and education
Academic Rank & Compensation

Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The position is fee‑for‑service with an estimated annual income of $300,000 for a full‑time equivalent, with potential for increased salary based on experience and academic credentials.
