Work Location: Perth – Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people. Ad hoc site travel will be required.

Join our People Readiness & Skills team and help shape the future capability of our workforce. This role blends creative learning design with a forward-thinking approach to workforce capability — identifying the skills we need today and the pathways to build those of tomorrow.

You’ll design innovative learning experiences that engage, empower, and prepare our people for a rapidly changing environment. This is an opportunity to make a real impact, contributing to how Fortescue grows talent and capability across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop engaging, scalable learning solutions that build capability for current and future operational needs
  • Create blended learning experiences — from e-learning and video content to facilitator guides, assessments, and on-the-job tools — using platforms such as Articulate 360, Vyond, Camtasia, and Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Translate technical, engineering, and operational content into clear, learner-focused materials
  • Integrate learning programs within SuccessFactors and other platforms to ensure seamless access and learner experience
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, site leaders, and frontline teams to make learning practical, relevant and impactful using technology, multimedia and design thinking
  • Use data and feedback to measure learning effectiveness and continuously improve outcomes
  • Leverage a foundational understanding of talent management, capability frameworks, and skills pathways to inform learning design decisions
  • Contribute to workforce capability mapping, skills analysis and development pathways that strengthen workforce readiness and future growth.
About You
  • Proven experience in instructional design, learning development and capability development within corporate, technical or operational environments
  • Strong in digital learning tools such as Articulate Rise/Storyline, Vyond and Camtasia
  • Experience creating high-quality facilitator guides, classroom materials and assessments
  • Understanding of SuccessFactors Learning or similar learning management systems
  • Strong communication, writing and content design skills — with an ability to simplify complex information
  • Knowledge of capability frameworks, skills mapping and workforce planning principles
  • Curious, collaborative and confident in translating workforce insights into practical learning solutions
  • Background in mining, resources or heavy industry is highly regarded
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment involving remote, office and site-based collaboration.
