Job summary

Mission Services of Hamilton is seeking a LEAF Group Facilitator to plan and deliver therapeutic programs for children who have witnessed family violence, in both group and individual settings. The role emphasizes trauma-informed, anti-racist and feminist approaches within a safety-focused shelter environment.

The position is permanent, full-time, with a bargaining unit under the collective agreement. The wage starts at $23.42 per hour, with benefits after 3 months and RRSP matching after one

Qualifications

• Diploma in Child and Youth Work or Early Childhood Education at minimum.
• Two or more years of experience in gender-based violence, child development and related social services.
• Experience developing and facilitating trauma-informed, anti-racist anti-oppressive programs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and facilitate therapeutic programs for children who witnessed family violence, group and one-on-one.
• Provide supportive case management and safety planning for residents and outreach clients.
• Maintain safety and security of the shelter and ensure confidential record-keeping.
• Collaborate with community partners and report to authorities as required.
• Deliver follow-up services for up to three months post-program and participate in program evaluations.
