About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Access and Flow Manager, the Leader Patient Flow Operations is responsible for the Nursing Administration and the coordination of safe, efficient patient care services within the facility. Responsibilities also include ensuring staffing levels are adequate to meet patient census. The Leader Patient Flow Operations will supervise nursing staff, and coordinate all hospital and bed utilization activities in the absence of hospital administration.

The Leader Patient Flow Operations works collaboratively and consultatively with patients/clients, families, management, staff, physicians, community partners and service providers to apply strategic and analytical thinking to address challenges with the ultimate goal of high quality, safe and cost-effective services to better support the patient experience/outcome.

The Leader Patient Flow Operations exhibits sound professional judgement and initiative while working within the framework and objectives of the Health Services Program and the Mission, Vision and Strategic Direction of the NSH.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing Program
  • Registered or eligible for registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing
  • Minimum of three (3) years medical/surgical experience or equivalent in an acute care setting
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ nursing management experience
  • BCLS requiredl>ACLS is an assetl>Demonstrated leadership, planning, organization and time management skillsl>Ability to promote and maintain good interpersonal relations in dealing with patients, visitors and other health professionalsl>Ability and knowledge to match utilization needs to resources availablel>Ability to perform duties that involve lifting, bending and stretchingl>Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferredl>

Hours
  • Permanent, Full-Time; 75 Hours Bi-weekly
  • Shifts include days, evenings, nights, weekends & holidays
  • Travel to various sites may be required
  • On call or satellite coverage may be required
Compensation and Benefits

$40.95 - $54.41 hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
