The Leader, Clinical Nurse Specialist provides practice leadership to the Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNSs) that serve throughout Fraser Health, acknowledging that CNSs play a key role consistent with the mission, vision and strategic directions of the programs and organization. CNSs represent a significant asset for the organization to accelerate clinical program innovation and excellence of nursing practice and to foster a compassionate quality practice environment. This role works to optimize and sustain the CNS role across programs, supports Fraser Health leadership in advanced practice nursing and ensures maximum impact of these resources on patient care and health service delivery based on current evidence. The Leader, Clinical Nurse Specialist promotes the recruitment, retention and career development of exceptional nursing leaders through academic and clinical mentorship in alignment with the BC CNS Policy Recommendations. Performs Clinical Nurse Specialist duties.
Master’s degree in Nursing (other graduate degrees may be considered depending on area of specialty) and current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). A minimum of five (5) years of recent experience as a Clinical Nurse Specialist, supplemented by three (3) years clinical practice and educational experience in a complex health care environment.
