Citigroup Inc. is seeking a seasoned UI/UX engineer to join the Fixed Income Trade Processing team. The role focuses on transitioning to smaller services and automated CI/CD pipelines to accelerate time-to-market. You will work on a large-scale, modern tech platform with global reach.

The candidate will lead designs, collaborate across teams, and develop robust code while ensuring risk and regulatory considerations are met in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of relevant experience in application development, performance and testability focus.
  • Experience with system analysis and programming of software applications.
  • Familiarity with Fixed Income products is a plus.
  • Proactive, able to adjust priorities quickly and lead in a large collaborative environment.

Citi is the Market Maker and a global leader in all major Fixed Income markets in across the globe. Unified Fix Income Trade Processing (FITP) is Citi’s primary Fixed Income trading platform processing Derivatives, Cash, Exotics and SFT products with 3800+ Trading, Sales, Middle Office users globally. Unified FITP, built on state of the art technology stack processes around 200,000 transactions daily and provides real time position, risk management capabilities. It has connectivity to 100+ electronic trading venues and 20+ regulatory bodies globally. We are looking for a talented and passionate UI/UX engineer to join our trade processing application development team and continue to evolve our next-generation trading application. They would lead the efforts to transition our application to smaller services, full automated CI/CD pipelines enabling faster time to market. The successful candidate will gain valuable exposure to the Fixed Income Trading business and an opportunity to work on a large scale, modern technology platform with a global presence

In this role, you’re expected to:

  • Partner with multiple teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals as well as identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements
  • Lead designs and implementation of robust and testable code in support of the requirements
  • Resolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency
  • Develop non-functional features in the system to improve reliability, scalability and performance
  • Provide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint
  • Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals
  • Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions
  • Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary
  • As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure: 12+ years of relevant experience in Application Development
    Experience with system analysis and in programming of software applications, especially as it pertains to performance and testability of components
    Familiarity with Fixed Income products is a plus
    Ability to be proactive, adjust priorities quickly
    Experience working on a mature development in a large collaborative environment as well as coming up with ideas that challenge current practices
    Demonstrated leadership skills
    Technology Skills:Primary: HTML5/javascript (React, Node.js), knowledge of the standard web development conceptsNice to have: C#, Dot.Net FrameworkEducation:• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience• Master’s degree preferred

This role sits within the Fixed Income Trade Processing team so knowledge of Fixed Income and Derivatives financial products is beneficial but not essential.

Good knowledge of AI tools like CoPilot and Devin is important.
