Job summary

The Aqua Life Swim Academy is seeking a Senior Swim Instructor to lead and mentor our instructional staff at Mississauga locations. You will deliver high-quality lessons, model safety protocols, and drive program growth through expert coaching.

You will train new instructors, ensure consistent teaching methods, monitor student progress, and foster a positive team culture that prioritizes safety and a love of swimming.

Qualifications

• Must hold valid National Lifeguard and SFA + CPR-C.
• Lifesaving Swim Instructor Certification preferred.
• At least 3–5 years of teaching experience as a swim instructor.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities to mentor and guide instructors.
• Professional demeanour with a calm, responsible approach.

Responsibilities

• Conduct swimming lessons for students of all ages and skill levels, demonstrating techniques and safety practices, and provide constructive feedback.
• Assist in training and orientation of new instructors, guiding lesson plans, safety protocols, and teaching methods.
• Mentor the swim instructor team, offering guidance and support to help them succeed.
• Maintain a safe swimming environment by enforcing water safety protocols.
• Foster a positive, inclusive work culture that encourages teamwork and a love for swimming.
• Create a positive, supportive environment that motivates skill development and passion for the sport.
• Track student progress, provide feedback, and celebrate milestones as skills improve.
• Act as a substitute instructor as needed.
