Job summary

Lisplogics is seeking a resilient backend lead in Montreal to design, build and maintain real-time optimization back-end systems. You will translate operations research models into production services and present results to clients in French.

You will set standards, mentor a small team and own performance, scalability and security of services while shaping the technical roadmap for hybrid work arrangements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building production back-end systems (APIs, microservices, databases).
• Experience leading a technical team or project.
• Strong CS foundation: algorithms, data structures, distributed systems.
• Fluent in French, spoken and written for client work.
• Professional English for clients, partners and documentation.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.

Job description

Base salary: $120,000 to $160,000 CAD, depending on experience.

You will work with a young tems of engineers on systems that run real operations every day.

The role

This is a full-time hybrid role in Montreal. You will work remote for the next upcoming months but you ma work from our office at least [3] days eventually. You may also visit client sites as needed.

You will lead our technical team and be the main technical contact for our clients. You will:

• Design, build and maintain the back-end systems behind our real-time optimization platforms
• Work with our engineers to turn operations research models into reliable production services
• Meet clients, in French, to understand their operations, scope solutions and present results
• Set engineering standards, review code and mentor the team
• Own performance, scalability, security and observability of deployed services
• Shape the technical roadmap
• Manage a small team

Requirements

• Live in the Greater Montreal area, or plan to relocate at your own expense before starting, and be available to work.
• Legally authorized to work in Canada (we do not offer visa sponsorship)
• Fluent in French, spoken and written, because you will work directly with Quebec clients
• Professional English, because [your real reason, e.g. some clients, partners and technical documentation are in English]

• Comfortable presenting to clients and explaining technical choices to non-technical people
• Strong CS foundation: algorithms, data structures, distributed systems

• Experience with optimization, operations research or real-time decision systems
