Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Software Development Manager for Alameda to lead a team building flagship building blocks for AWS services. You will own the full lifecycle from conception to delivery, shaping a long-term strategic roadmap and coordinating with AWS Services on priorities.

You will mentor engineers, drive architecture at scale, and partner with product management to align delivery with business goals in a fast-paced, customer-obsessed environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience.
• 3+ years of designing or architecting multi-tier web services.
• 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services.
• Experience with full SDLC, reviews, testing, and livesite operations.
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of software development engineers tasked with building or solving complex software problems.
• Work successfully with customers, leaders, and other engineering teams.
• Shape technical strategy by demonstrating breadth and depth of knowledge in software development disciplines.
• Guide teams in software engineering practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Make architectural decisions and understand systems design at scale.
