Job Title: Lead Service Technician

Location: London, ON (Not on a bus route)

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Schedule: Monday to Friday – 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM (flexible)

Compensation: $25–$30/hour (depending on experience)

Job Summary

We are currently hiring a Lead Service Technician to work with our client in London, who operates within the commercial and specialty vehicle manufacturing and distribution industry.

The successful candidate will perform daily functions of final vehicle finish, repair, vehicle and shop maintenance, and various duties related to the functions of the shop floor. The ideal candidate will have strong people skills and the ability to oversee back shop operations.

Being mechanically inclined is essential for this role; however, a full mechanic’s license is not required.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company standards.
  • Adhere to all health and safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct comprehensive Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDIs), including underbody inspections, repairs, and installations as required.
  • Perform final finishing and installation of custom components such as accessories, camera systems, and accessibility equipment (including lifts, ramps, and restraint systems).
  • Carry out 12V electrical inspections, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  • Perform mechanical diagnosis and repairs related to:
    • HVAC systems
    • Door and window mechanisms
    • Lift and ramp systems
    • Electrical systems (primarily 12V; familiarity with high-voltage EV systems is considered an asset)
    • Body panels and structural components
    • (Note: Engine, transmission, and brake repairs are not required for this role.)
  • Perform oil and fluid changes as required.
  • Conduct vehicle washing and cleaning as part of pre-delivery or service preparation.
  • Accurately follow, complete, and close work orders in accordance with established processes.
  • Operate company trucks and drive customer or company commercial vehicles and buses as needed.
  • Participate in company-supported training programs (web-based and in-person) to maintain and enhance technical skills.
  • Maintain professional and courteous communication with customers, vendors, and colleagues at all times.
  • Provide assistance to the parts department with packaging, shipping, or related tasks as required.
  • Communicate effectively with management and collaborate across departments to support efficient operations and continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
  • High School education or equivalent highly preferred
  • Clean CVOR
  • Bus, RV, or Commercial Vehicle experience highly preferredStrong mechanical and troubleshooting background in commercial vehicles or heavy equipment
  • Ability to read schematics and blueprints
  • Strong workspace management and cleanliness
  • Enthusiastic, results-driven problem solver
  • Minimum valid G-class driver’s license required
  • Z-Endorsement preferred; F-A class an advantage
  • Valid passport to travel internationally to the U.S. (for training or vehicle pickup)
  • Bilingual (English/French) valued asset
