Job summary

Codex is seeking an Anaplan Architecture Lead to drive a major transformation of its FP&A technology environment in Toronto. This hands-on leadership role focuses on building scalable Anaplan models, optimizing data movement, and establishing technical standards within a growing CoE.

You'll bridge FP&A needs with data engineering, guide model builders, and ensure best practices are embedded as the organization transitions from legacy planning to Anaplan.

• 4+ years of hands-on Anaplan experience.
• 6+ years of overall Finance / FP&A experience.
• Strong technical Anaplan Model Building and architecture expertise.
• Experience with Anaplan integrations and enterprise data.

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical Anaplan lead and go-to expert across the organization's growing Anaplan environment.
• Provide end-to-end guidance on model design, architecture, performance, and scalability.
• Advise Model Builders on Anaplan best practices and the most efficient approaches to development.
• Review existing and proposed solutions and identify when the team should take a different technical approach.
• Partner closely with FP&A teams to translate financial planning requirements into scalable Anaplan solutions.
• Advise on how data should be structured, sourced, transformed, and moved into and out of Anaplan.
• Work with Data Engineering teams to understand raw data requirements and support the development of new data pipelines.
• Identify technical workarounds and solutions where standard approaches may not meet business requirements.
• Help establish technical standards and processes for the developing Anaplan CoE.
• Collaborate with implementation consultants while building the internal knowledge required to own the platform long term.
• Support the transition from the current legacy planning environment into Anaplan.

About the Role

A leading financial services organization is hiring an Anaplan Architecture Lead to play a key role in a major transformation of its FP&A technology environment.

The organization is transitioning from Hyperion to Anaplan and has already partnered with a leading global consultancy to support the initial implementation. They are now looking to bring deep Anaplan expertise in-house to help shape the platform, establish technical best practices, and ensure the solution is built correctly for the long term.

This is a highly practical technical leadership role rather than a high-level architecture position. You'll be expected to understand how models should be built, how data should move in and out of Anaplan, where potential performance issues will arise, and what technical approaches should, or should not be taken.

With Anaplan still a relatively new initiative for the organization, you'll have significant creative freedom to influence the platform and make your mark on the wider CoE.

What You'll Do

Team Structure

You'll join an integrated planning and technology function consisting of three closely aligned groups:

• Team Makeup: Team of 10 members, including Model Builders and architecture resources responsible for translating requirements into model design and development.
• Data & Integration: Data Engineers responsible for pipelines, integrations, and moving data between Anaplan and the wider technology ecosystem.
• Business / FP&A: Finance stakeholders working directly with business lines and end users to establish requirements, planning drivers, management goals, and assessments.

You'll sit across these groups as the technical driving force for Anaplan, ensuring Finance requirements, model architecture, and the underlying data environment work together effectively.

Desired Candidate Profile:

• 4+ years of hands-on Anaplan experience
• 6+ years of overall Finance / FP&A experience
• Strong technical Anaplan Model Building and architecture expertise
• Strong understanding of model architecture, performance, scalability, and technical best practices
• Experience working with Anaplan integrations and enterprise data
• Comfortable working with raw data and partnering with Data Engineering teams
• Ability to advise on how data pipelines should support Anaplan models
• Experience providing technical direction to Model Builders and other Anaplan professionals
• Ability to challenge proposed solutions and recommend better technical approaches
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
