Job summary

West Edmonton Mall Property Inc. is seeking a Refrigeration Supervisor to lead the Refrigeration team, overseeing installations, repairs, and maintenance of HVAC and refrigeration systems across the mall.

You will supervise journeypersons and apprentices, manage the department budget, coordinate with other trades, handle inventory, and participate in recruitment, scheduling, and on‑call coverage. This role requires strong leadership and hands‑on technical ability to maintain peak facility

Qualifications

• Must hold a Journeyperson/Red Seal HVAC Refrigeration trade certification.
• 5–7 years of experience as a Journeyperson in commercial/industrial HVAC refrigeration repair.
• Proven supervisory/leadership experience in a trades environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently or in a team.
• Budget management and supplier relations experience; proficient with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Refrigeration team, providing direction and guidance to Journeypersons and Apprentices.
• Prepare, maintain, and adhere to the annual Refrigeration department budget and complete required paperwork.
• Respond to dispatch calls, delegate tasks, and participate in staff recruitment and performance reviews.
• Coordinate with other trades and Mall departments to meet Refrigeration needs.
• Manage inventory and place purchase orders for materials as required.
• Repair and maintain HVAC/R equipment using Journeyperson knowledge; service roof tops, makeup air, exhaust, and fan coils.
• Install/replace pumps or refrigeration equipment per plans; read gauges and adjust valves/pumps.
• Other duties as required.
