Job description

We are a Canadian leader in digital automotive solutions. Our flagship brands — AutoTrader.ca, AutoSync, Dealertrack Canada and CMS — help Canadians buy, sell, and finance vehicles with confidence.

AutoSync provides automotive software that helps dealerships attract shoppers, convert demand into sales, and manage their businesses. Our Website and Digital Retail portfolio brings together dealer websites and online shopping tools to connect vehicle discovery with the next steps in a purchase.

We are looking for a Lead Product Manager to own the strategy, roadmap, and performance of this portfolio as we evolve it into a unified ecommerce experience. You will serve both vehicle shoppers and the dealerships that buy and operate our software, creating intuitive shopping journeys and scalable tools that deliver measurable dealer value.

You bring deep product experience in ecommerce and websites, with a track record of improving discovery, conversion, and commercial performance. This role combines people management with individual contribution: you will manage and develop the product team while personally leading discovery, defining requirements, and working with Engineering, Design, and commercial teams to deliver results.

As part of AutoScout24 group, Europe’s largest online car marketplace, we’re shaping the future of automotive retail in Canada and beyond.

Join us on our journey as we bring together the best of Europe and North America to shape the future of automotive retail.

What you’ll do
  • Own the portfolio strategy. Define the vision, priorities, and roadmap for Website & Digital Retail, balancing shopper needs, dealer outcomes, commercial growth, and platform investment.
  • Improve the shopping funnel. Own journeys spanning inventory search and filtering, vehicle detail pages, payment exploration, trade‑ins, financing applications, appointments, deposits, and the handoff to dealership teams. Reduce friction and abandonment across mobile and desktop.
  • Lead discovery and experimentation. Combine shopper and dealer research, funnel analysis, usability testing, and A/B experiments to validate opportunities and improve qualified leads and shopping-step completion.
  • Define requirements and drive delivery. Personally gather and validate customer, business, and technical requirements; write user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows; and maintain a prioritized backlog. Partner with Engineering, Design, and QA through refinement, planning, testing, release readiness, and post-launch validation, resolving requirement gaps and dependencies early.
  • Raise website quality. Partner with Engineering and Design to improve speed, Core Web Vitals, technical SEO, accessibility, and reliability. Balance new capabilities with the stability customers depend on.
  • Build a scalable dealer platform. Evolve content management, merchandising, and configuration for individual dealers, dealer groups, and automotive manufacturers (OEMs), meeting program requirements through reusable capabilities.
  • Connect the ecosystem. Partner across inventory, pricing, incentives, CRM, marketplace, and financing integrations to deliver accurate information and a consistent shopping journey.
  • Lead modernization and adoption. Guide product consolidation, phased launches, and dealer migrations, protecting customer experience, search visibility, lead delivery, and reporting continuity.
  • Own measurable business outcomes. Define and track conversion, lead quality, adoption, retention, recurring revenue, and operating efficiency. Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success on packaging, launch readiness, and expansion.
  • Manage people and lead decisions. Set clear responsibilities and expectations for the product team, coach team members, review their work, and manage performance and development. Align cross-functional teams and communicate priorities, trade-offs, risks, and progress to executives, customers, and partners.
What you’ll bring
  • Substantial product experience. 7+ years in product management, including significant direct ownership of customer‑facing ecommerce or transactional website products. Ecommerce and website product experience is essential.
  • A proven conversion track record. You have shipped and optimized shopping journeys such as search, merchandising, product detail pages, forms, checkout, or other high‑intent conversion flows, with measurable improvements in customer and business outcomes.
  • Strong website product judgment. Practical understanding of mobile UX, content management systems, technical SEO, page performance, Core Web Vitals, and accessibility, including how these affect discovery and conversion.
  • Rigorous discovery and analytics. Experience using qualitative research, web analytics such as GA4 or equivalent, event instrumentation, funnel analysis, and A/B testing to make decisions. You can distinguish improvements in traffic or clicks from meaningful conversion and revenue gains.
  • Strategy with hands‑on execution. Demonstrated ability to turn ambiguous customer and business problems into clear requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and delivery plans. You remain directly involved in product delivery while balancing customer commitments, dependencies, and commercial priorities.
  • Platform and integration fluency. Experience working with APIs, inventory or catalogue data, pricing, and third‑party integrations. You can assess the product implications of architecture and data quality and contribute to platform modernization or migration decisions.
  • People management and product leadership. Experience managing and developing product talent, setting clear expectations, providing feedback, and managing performance. You can lead complex cross‑functional initiatives, make clear trade‑offs, and communicate effectively with senior leaders and customers.
  • Commercial thinking. Ability to connect product decisions to adoption, retention, monetization, and cost to serve, while balancing the experience of end consumers with the needs of business customers.
Experience That Would Be an Asset
  • Relevant platforms and industries. Automotive retail, digital retailing, marketplaces, or B2B2C SaaS; experience supporting multiple customer websites, brands, or enterprise partner requirements.
  • Website platform evolution. WordPress or other CMS platforms, configurable website components, and migrations that preserve SEO and customer workflows.
  • Applied AI. Delivering and evaluating AI capabilities in search, recommendations, personalization, or content, with clear evidence of customer value. Comfort using AI tools in your own product work.
