Job summary

IS2 is seeking an experienced Lead Sub-Printing Press Operator in Markham, ON. The role focuses on sheetfed offset printing, press setup, colour management, and quality control in a fast-paced production environment.

The ideal candidate brings extensive hands-on experience operating large-format presses, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to producing high-quality work. Pay rate is CAD 38.00–42.00 per hour with Monday–Thursday shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM.

Qualifications

• 10+ years operating sheetfed offset presses.
• Experience with 40" or larger presses.
• Strong understanding of color theory and print quality standards.
• Mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read job tickets and production schedules.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor sheetfed offset printing presses
• Review job tickets and confirm specifications (paper stock, inks, coatings, etc.)
• Perform make-ready, adjust ink and water balance, and maintain color consistency
• Inspect printed sheets for quality, registration, and defects
• Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of press equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical or print quality issues
• Ensure jobs are completed on time and meet production standards
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Follow all health and safety protocols

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled printing professional with a strong background in sheetfed offset printing, press setup, colour management, and quality control. The ideal candidate will bring extensive hands-on experience operating large-format presses, a strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to producing high-quality work in a fast-paced production environment. Location: Markham, ON Pay Rate: $38.00–$42.00 per hour (based on experience) Shift: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 PM–6:00 AM Training: Initial training may take place on day shift.
