Job summary

Cencora is seeking a Pharmacist for our Regina, SK location to dispense prescriptions, counsel patients, and support daily pharmacy operations. You will lead and coordinate pharmacy staff while ensuring compliance with regulations and quality care.

The role emphasizes collaboration with healthcare providers and cross-divisional teams, delivering high-level service within daytime hours at our Regina site.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a B.Sc. Pharmacy degree or higher.
• Current registration in Alberta.
• Excellent knowledge of pharmacy operations and legislation.
• Experience in retail, hospital, healthcare, pharmaceutical or biotech industry beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Dispense prescriptions per regulations and policies to ensure pharmaceutical care.
• Counsel patients on specialty medications.
• Coach and coordinate pharmacy technicians and assistants daily.
• Assist in operational activities to optimize pharmacy processes.
• Support operational improvements and build provider relationships.
• Collaborate with Distribution, Patient Programs, Clinics and Nursing divisions.

We are looking for a Pharmacist to join our wonderful team in Regina. Whether you're experienced or newly qualified, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities

• Ensure all prescriptions are dispensed in accordance with pharmacy regulations and company policies in order to provide the highest level of pharmaceutical care for patients;
• Provide patient counseling on specialty medications
• Support, coach and co-ordinate the activities of pharmacy technicians and assistants in the day-to-day operation of the Pharmacy;
• Assist in operational activities to optimize pharmacy processes;
• Help to drive operational improvements;
• Develop relationships with health care providers and patients and build on current relationships;
• Collaborate and liaise with the Distribution, Patient Programs, Clinics and Nursing divisions
• Report Adverse Events in accordance with provincial regulatory standards and, where applicable, internal and contractual obligations
• The Pharmacist, Pharmacy Services will also be assigned other duties and tasks as required from time to time.
• May be required to be on standby/ on call as part of this role.

Education

Additional Job Description

• Successful completion of a B.Sc. Pharmacy degree or higher
• Current registration in Alberta

Experience

• Excellent knowledge of pharmacy operations and legislation
• Experience in retail, hospital, healthcare, pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry would be beneficial but not essential
• A high degree of accuracy and very high attention to detail are essential
• Relevant experience to oversee operational personnel in the pharmacy;
• Candidate must have strong communication, customer service, interpersonal and time management skills;
• Strong business acumen and an interest to working in an innovative practice;
• Proven ability to organize time, set priorities and multi-task in order to meet various competing work deadlines;
• Understanding of cold chain distribution practices
• Working knowledge of Kroll;
• Strong understanding of Third Party billing and contracts
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, PowerPoint);
• Knowledge of pharmacy regulations across Canada is an asset
