Job description

We are prayerfully seeking a compassionate, collaborative full time pastor with integrity and humility—someone who communicates effectively, builds relationships across generations, and models the love of Christ. Our congregation has expressed a strong desire for a pastor who excels in preaching and teaching, pastoral care and counselling, and discipleship. The successful candidate will be relationally driven—someone who leads with empathy, listens well, and walks alongside others in their spiritual journeys. While administrative skills are appreciated, these functions are well-supported by our existing staff and volunteers.

Overview of Church and Community

FBC Prince George is a multicultural and multi-generational congregation with a mix of urban and rural adherents, typically welcoming 120 to 180 attendees on a Sunday morning. We are affiliated with the Canadian Baptists of Western Canada (CBWC) and partner with Canadian Baptist Ministries (CBM) and several mission partners and local ministries. Our church community is committed to being welcoming and relational—helping people build meaningful connections with God and with one another.

Prince George is a vibrant city of approximately 85,000 residents, often referred to as the “Gateway to the North.” It features an international airport and serves as a hub for education, conferences, healthcare, and government services. The city also offers abundant opportunities in arts, sports, and outdoor adventures such as fishing and hunting. Forestry and mining are among the region's key industries.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

The applicant must have an M.Div with 5-7 years of experience as a lead or associate pastor.

Role and Responsibilities

The lead pastor’s primary responsibilities will be shepherding, including preaching, teaching, pastoral care and counselling, and discipleship. The leadership responsibilities include working collaboratively with the leadership team in the process of decision-making and implementing the church’s vision and mission statement.
