Job summary

RK MacDonald Nursing Home in Antigonish, NS is seeking a dynamic Occupational Therapist to join our long-term care team. You will assess residents, plan and implement therapies, and document outcomes within established policies.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to promote safe, functional activity, independence, and resident-centered care. The role requires a degree in OT, Nova Scotia registration, and active professional involvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years recent experience in a Long-Term Care setting.
• Registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia.
• Safety certifications such as BCLS, CPR, NCPI.
• Active membership with the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess residents and plan, implement, evaluate and document a plan of care.
• Screen and prioritize referrals to Occupational Therapy.
• Engage residents in goal setting to identify priorities.
• Provide interventions to maximize occupational functioning and promote safety and independence.
