Job summary

Vaughan Ventures Ltd. in Delta, BC, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to own the estimating function for commercial and institutional projects. The role focuses on accurate, competitive estimates and developing estimating systems and procedures.

The candidate will review drawings, prepare plumbing/HVAC/complete mechanical estimates, manage tender submissions, and collaborate with the Operations Manager and Project Managers to ensure smooth handover and project success.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of mechanical estimating experience in British Columbia.
• Ability to prepare plumbing, HVAC and complete mechanical estimates for commercial/institutional projects.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, addenda and tender documents accurately.
• Working knowledge of mechanical estimating software.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Clear communication and follow‑through.
• Valid driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Estimating and tender execution.
• Review drawings, specifications, addenda and tender requirements.
• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs for plumbing, HVAC and mechanical packages.
• Estimate new construction, upgrades, renovations and tenant improvements.
• Obtain, organize and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing.
• Prepare complete estimates, tender forms, scope letters, clarifications, exclusions and bid submissions.
• Identify scope gaps, constructability concerns, risks and pricing opportunities.
• Manage changing tender priorities and communicate capacity constraints early.
• Maintain visibility into active opportunities, deadlines and estimate status.
• Work with Operations and Project Managers for handover and post-award support.
