Job summary

HCLTech in Vancouver seeks a frontend developer to build modern web apps with React and Next.js. You will collaborate with product and backend teams to turn business needs into polished UI features.

Ideal candidates have hands-on experience with RESTful APIs, build tools, and authentication/authorization practices. Knowledge of MongoDB and Agile SCRUM is a plus, with a focus on delivering high-quality, scalable interfaces.

Qualifications

• Experience in ecommerce domain and platforms like commerce tools (Frontastic a plus).
• Proficient in front-end development using React and Next.js.
• Strong understanding of core React/Next.js concepts.
• Knowledge of data structures (e.g., Immutable.js).
• Familiarity with authentication/authorization (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT).
• Experience with front-end build pipelines and tools (Babel, Webpack, Yarn).
• Version control knowledge (Git, SVN, Mercurial).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab, Jenkins, Bamboo, VSTS).
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical tasks.
• Strong benchmarking, performance optimization, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working in Agile / SCRUM environments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Hands-on experience with MongoDB.

Job description

• Prior experience of working in eCommerce domain and experience on platforms like commerce tools (including Frontastic) will be a big plus
• Extensive experience in developing Front End applications using React and Next.JS
• Thorough understanding of React.js and Next.js and its core principles
• Experience with data structure libraries (e.g., Immutable.js)
• Knowledge of isomorphic React is a plus
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs
• Knowledge of modern authorization mechanisms, such as JSON Web Token
• Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools
• Experience with common front-end development tools such as Babel, Webpack, Yarn, etc.
• Familiarity with code versioning tools {{such as Git, SVN, and Mercurial}}
• Knowledge in CI/CD tools (Gitlab, Jenkins, Bamboo, VSTS, etc)
• Experience with authentication (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, etc) and authorization of APIs and security best practices such as validation, etc
• Hand on Experience in MongoDB
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
• A knack for benchmarking and optimization
• Experience with Agile / SCRUM methodology for product development
• Proven ability and desire to deliver projects on time with high quality.
