Job summary

Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan is seeking a Lead Integration Engineer, Platform Delivery, to organize TI services for application platforms across cloud and on-premises environments. You will lead planning, requirements, and implementation coordination for platform integration, with remote work flexibility and occasional in-person collaboration.

  • Framework level knowledge of delivery and operational approaches.
  • Agile product delivery and DevSecOps experience.
  • ITSM knowledge including Service Desk, Incident, Change and CAB.
  • Design knowledge of cloud principles and multi-cloud integration.
  • Experience with release, deployment and environment management.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze existing application platforms for optimal operations and assess new requirements for integration.
  • Conduct market research and PoCs; recommend solution alternatives.
  • Plan and direct TI activities with cross-team collaboration to deliver infrastructure solutions.
  • Lead design walkthroughs and readiness reviews for new systems to ensure security and availability.
  • Promote DevSecOps and optimize CI/CD, release delivery and environment strategy.

Job description

The opportunity

As the Lead Integration Engineer, Platform Delivery, you will be accountable for organizing a set of Technology Infrastructure (TI) services – application platform integration, release and environment orchestration, DevSecOps, and environment delivery – to support Product portfolio teams. You will lead activities around planning, requirement analysis, solution alternatives engineering and implementation coordination for application platforms residing in the cloud or on-premises. You\'ll have the opportunity to work remotely and come into the office on occasion for team collaboration moments. Our Flexible Travel Program gives you the option to work abroad for a month in another region/country. The choice is yours!

Who you\'ll work with

You will lead a cross-functional service delivery group – application vendors, Product portfolio squads and Technology Infrastructure teams – to engineer solutions that meet the needs of Teachers’ business areas. You will work under the guidance of our Senior Manager, Platform Delivery.

What you\'ll do
  • Analyze existing application platforms to ensure optimal operations and analyze new application system requirements to identify where the integration of latest technology and application patterns can be applied

  • Based on the knowledge Product portfolio needs and their application platform uniqueness, perform market research, conduct Proof of Concepts, and then recommend solution alternatives or improvements after the detailed assessment

  • Technically plan and direct all TI activities with collaboration from TI DevSecOps & Environment Automation, TI Engineering, TI Infrastructure Operations, and vendor teams to deliver the Technology Infrastructure solution

  • Lead the design walkthrough and operational readiness review of new systems / application platform to ensure compliance with security, availability, performance, BCP/DR, and other Teachers’ standards / strategies.

  • Promote DevSecOps, support CI/CD pipelines, optimize release delivery agility, design fit-for-purpose environment strategy and deliver automated services

What you\'ll need
  • Framework level knowledge of delivery and operational approaches: Waterfall/Iterative SDLC, Agile/Traditional Project Management, Portfolio-Product Lifecycle, IT Service Management

  • Roles and processes with agile product delivery and DevSecOps approach

  • Roles and processes with ITSM - Service Desk, Incident, Problem, Change, CAB, L1/L2/L3 Supports

  • Design level knowledge of system architecture, cloud (PaaS/SaaS) principles, integration of application systems, and common investment business function platforms including trading, accounting and financial operations.

  • In-depth knowledge of application, data and infrastructure integration between application platforms in a multi-cloud / SaaS approach connecting to critical technology components residing on-premises

  • 5 years of application development experience with agile product delivery and DevSecOps approach to design, build, enhance, and support a business application platform

  • 5 years of operational experience with providing L1/L2/L3 application supports, governing production changes through CAB and situation-managing incidents/problems

  • 5 years of lead experience in managing mission-critical development initiatives and/or application upgrade/migration projects

  • 3 years of Release, Deployment and Environment Management experience with scheduling, organizing, and orchestrating of releases/non-production environments across multiple Product portfolios

  • Preferably, some application level experience with Charles Rivers (CRIMS), SimCorp Dimension (SCD), and FIS Quantum (QTM)

Pay-for-performance with base salary and annual incentive based on individual and enterprise performance.The Base Salary range for this level is as follows:$120,000 - $170,000.Individual compensation and placement of this role in the range is based on different factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, demonstrated competencies, and internal equity as they relate to the role.
