Fraser Health Authority seeks a Senior Indigenous Cultural Advisor to lead Indigenous wellness initiatives and mentor the Indigenous Cultural Advisor team. The role ensures Indigenous perspectives guide care across acute and community settings and supports ceremony and traditional wellness practices.

You will collaborate with program leaders, engage with Indigenous communities, and influence policy to embed cultural safety in Fraser Health’s services.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related discipline.
• Three years' recent experience with Indigenous organizations/programs.
• Valid BC Driver's licence and a personal vehicle for business purposes.

Aufgaben

• Collaborates with leadership and Indigenous communities to define Nation-based approaches to care.
• Mentors health care team to provide traditional wellness support for clients and families.
• Selects and develops Indigenous Cultural Advisors; sets performance standards and provides training on ceremony and traditional wellness practices.
• Provides leadership to ensure Indigenous perspectives and traditional wellness are honoured across Fraser Health sites.
• Leads and facilitates ceremony and traditional wellness practices.
• Attends meetings to share cultural awareness and wisdom with attendees.
• Contributes to policy development to embed cultural safety in practices and policies across Fraser Health.
• Provides guidance to clients and families regarding health decisions and wellness care plans.
• Shares teachings about traditional knowledge to clients and families.
• Supports rights of clients to receive culturally respectful services.
