Job summary

RBC in Toronto is seeking a Lead Full Stack Developer to design and implement APIs and UIs for AWS/Azure data platforms, enabling seamless user experiences and automation.

You'll lead a team of developers, mentor engineers, and drive quality through code reviews, CI/CD, and MLOps-aware infrastructure. This role offers growth, competitive compensation, and a path to enterprise impact.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript and a backend language (Python/Java/Node.js).
  • Experience building web apps with React, Vue, or Angular.
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs and web app architecture.
  • Familiar with DevOps tooling: Git, Docker, and GitHub Actions.
  • Knowledge of databases, SQL, and ORMs.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
  • Experience with ML concepts or MLOps tools.
  • Knowledge of responsive design and UX.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of full-stack APIs and UIs using modern frameworks.
  • Lead backend services and APIs with Python, FastAPI and Flask.
  • Collaborate with platform engineers to integrate with MLOps infrastructure and guide technical decisions.
  • Participate in code reviews and drive improvement of code quality and best practices.
  • Support application CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, deploying to Kubernetes.
  • Setup application monitoring and alerting through Grafana.
  • Work with internal clients and stakeholders on new feature enablement.

At AI Group, you'll be joining a team that works directly with leading researchers in machine learning, has access to rich and massive datasets, and offers the computational resources to support ongoing development in areas such as reinforcement learning, unsupervised learning and computer vision.

What will you do?
  • Lead the development of full-stack APIs and UIs using modern frameworks and technologies
  • Lead the development of backend services and APIs using Python, FastAPI and Flask
  • Collaborate with platform engineers to integrate applications with MLOps infrastructure and guide technical decisions
  • Participate in code reviews and drive improvement of code quality and best practices
  • Support application CI/CD pipelines using GitHub actions, deploying to Kubernetes
  • Setup application monitoring and alerting through Grafana
  • Work with internal clients and stakeholders on new feature enablement
What do you need to succeed?
Must have
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and one backend language (Python, Java, or Node.js)
  • Strong experience building web applications with modern frameworks (React, Vue, Angular, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs and web application architecture
  • Strong understanding of devops tooling including Git, Docker and GitHub actions
  • Good knowledge of databases, SQL and ORMs
  • Nice-to-have:
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
  • Experience with machine learning concepts or MLOps tools
  • Knowledge of responsive design and UX principles
