Qualifications

• Proven knowledge and experience in structural engineering related to bridges and transportation structures.
• Knowledge of hydrology studies, soils, foundations, and construction practices.
• Proficiency with related structural computer programs.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CHBDC).
• Working knowledge of structural maintenance, inspections and operations, foundation rehabilitation and hydrology designs.

In this role, you will:

• provide engineering expertise to safeguard the well-being of vehicular transportation corridors


• plan, manage and deliver bridge and infrastructure projects

What you bring to the team

Mandatory:

• You are a Professional Engineer, licensed with the Association of Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).


• You possess a valid Ontario Class “G” Driver's License.

Technical knowledge:

• proven knowledge and experience in structural engineering and design practices pertaining to bridges, culverts and other transportation structures (design, analysis, evaluation, rehabilitation)


• knowledge of hydrology studies, road design, soils, foundations, and construction practices


• proficiency working with related structural computer programs


• demonstrated knowledge of the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CHBDC)


• working knowledge of structural maintenance, inspections and operations, foundation rehabilitation and hydrology designs, and structural planning

Project management and technical administration skills

• the ability to manage consultant assignments, identify and resolve technical and administrative issues


• demonstrated abilities in contract preparation and delivery processes


• proven competency in project management and technical administration of structural projects


• proven abilities in contract preparation and delivery processes


• effective organizational skills and the ability to manage concurrent projects

This position requires the completion of in-house design work and providing your engineering seal to assume professional responsibility for your documents and drawings.
