Job summary

Thomson Reuters is seeking a Lead Data Scientist to design, build, and maintain predictive models that drive customer expansion and AI adoption of legal solutions. You'll work with Lifecycle Marketing, Marketing Operations, and Customer Success to embed insights into Treasure Data and activation workflows.

The role requires 5+ years in data science, strong Python skills, and experience with large datasets; you will collaborate across engineering, product, and commercial teams to deliver

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or applied machine learning in a B2B SaaS or subscription-based environment.
• Experience building predictive or classification models that influence customer growth, retention, or expansion decisions.
• Strong proficiency in Python or similar data science tools, including feature engineering and model evaluation.
• Demonstrated experience working with large, complex datasets such as product usage, behavioral logs, or campaign data.
• Experience partnering with Marketing, Growth, or Customer Success teams to translate insights into action.
• Familiarity with deploying or activating models within analytics platforms or CDPs; Treasure Data experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of experimentation and measuring impact using statistical and business metrics.
• Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Curiosity and ownership mindset, with a bias toward building models used in production.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain predictive models that support customer expansion and engagement scoring.
• Identify signals for AI adoption using behavioral, usage, and lifecycle data.
• Translate model outputs into actionable segments with Lifecycle Marketing.
• Operationalize models within Treasure Data for activation and measurement.
• Develop features from product usage data and campaign engagement.
• Monitor model performance and ensure explainability and business alignment.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering, Product, Customer Success, and Commercial teams.
