Job summary

A local restaurant in Vancouver is looking for a skilled cook to prepare and cook complete meals and individual dishes. The ideal candidate will oversee kitchen staff, ensure food safety for customers with allergies, and manage food supply orders. A secondary school diploma and 1-2 years of experience in a similar role are required. This is a permanent full-time position offering 40 hours of work per week.

Qualifications

  • 1 year to less than 2 years or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods.
  • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
  • Prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by dietitian or chef.
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food.
  • Order supplies and equipment.
  • Supervise kitchen staff and helpers.
